Makenzie Peterson (Pet Care Specialist)

My name is Makenzie and I am a proud owner of three mini schnauzers (Sapphire, Shamrock, and Onyx) and one senior Labrador German Shepherd mix (Shadow)! All of my dogs bring me so much joy in life, and I don’t know where I’d be without them. Fun fact, Onyx is actually the offspring of Sapphire and Shamrock! It was a beautiful thing experiencing the entire pregnancy and puppy raising with Sapphire’s litter, and that experience has only made me more well versed as a pet care specialist. I’ve owned other dogs in the past, along with more exotic animals like bunnies, guinea pigs, bearded dragons, snakes, and fish! I have cherished every pet I’ve ever owned, and the wide variety of experience makes me much more versatile with pets I may care for! I am going to University to earn my Zoology degree, with a focus on animal conservation and behavior, as animals have always been my passion. As a pet care specialist, I pay very close attention to the behaviors and personalities of all the fur (or scaly and feathered) babies under my care. Getting to learn and adapt to each pet is a great joy of mine, and I love watching them thrive in an environment that they feel safe and seen in! Outside of pet care, I’m an avid fantasy reader and anime connoisseur. At the end of the night, I will most likely be curled up in bed with a fur baby beside me and a book in my hand. I can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies!
